COVID19 Changes IT Spending Priorities for Airlines and Airports
(24 Feb 2021) The ongoing global COVID19 pandemic refocused IT spending priorities for airlines and airports in 2020 as revenue plunged and the industry faced various new health and operational requirements.
Among the key findings from SITA’s 2020 Air Transport IT Insights, published on 24 February, was an accelerated investment in automated passenger processing focusing on touchless and mobile services.

Public Health Alert – New Zealand cases
Following the New Zealand Government’s report yesterday of three additional cases of COVID-19 in Auckland, NSW Health is contacting travellers who have arrived from NZ since Saturday 20 February on quarantine-free flights to check if they have been to any new venues of concern attended by an infectious person.
As a precaution, people who have arrived since Saturday 20 February are also being asked if they are well and are being asked to get tested for COVID-19 and isolate until they get a negative result, or for 14 days if they attended one of the venues.

Bilateral talks between the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa were held at Temple Trees yesterday.
Following the discussions, several Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were signed between the Governments of Sri Lanka and Pakistan and the Prime Ministers of the two countries issued a joint statement.
The Prime Minister said that the way in which the Prime Minister of Pakistan had been elevated to the top by empowering the people through his many years of political activism was remarkable.
The Prime Minister also stated that the measures taken to empower the grassroots and underprivileged people are intertwined with the policies of his government. Later, the two Prime Ministers held a joint press conference.
